Forgetting the Fox

Forgetting the Fox

A Poem by Jean-Pierre Garcia
"

Coping with change.

"
Sharpen upon your insults
you can't prove a thing without results
Holden back on biding time
Caulfield can't stand
making sense of the grime oozing through
every jibe, terrible vibe,
why have i
tolerated such
how could I mistake you for affection
when it was a different direction
no. Dissent, descending into discretion
Hidden on discussion with permission from the choir
it's like my throat is hanging from a telephone wire
you're such a f*****g liar
insulated on dilated whims
violated in limbs that limp
like a lip barbed
with teeth barred up on the wall
you always treat me quivering
and small
in voice
taxed in friendship, paid in full.
The reality that it was always a choice
mine to end
mine to mend
Before, during, and after
I was walking taller, talking faster
B*****d
They're phonies anyway.

I'm a gnomic meanderer. I have just the right amount of neuroticism to lock myself in my room to write, but somehow have faked myself out of it by writing on the go or for the student newspaper I wo.. more..
