A Poem by Egoless

We were always leaving.

When you left me,

I'd dream about screaming

Falling to my knees

Clawing at my wrists and

Wake up to stained cheeks

Because it physically hurt

To be left alone

I'd lay in bed all day

I was too numb to move.

When I left you,

I dreamt about freedom

My hair in my face

Voice ringing out loud

A life without attachment

Imagined myself whole

No longer split into two worlds

Neither of which were mine

Because in the end

Someone was always gone.
