![]() People watchingA Poem by eglantineI. Man and woman, young and in sweaters loose enough to let their skin breath, cross Church street. The man's arms barely sway, like stiff grass not yet accustomed to springs' friendliness and the woman holds a cup of coffee (I'm not sure what it is but I imagine it's coffee) in her left hand--her right arm dangles like a loosed yo-yo. I want them to hold hands--his are uncurled but hers are clenched and holding.
II. Her hair is full with egg-shell and her skin is loose like yolk. She walks slanted as she breaks through the air, her tongue burned at the edges. © 2012 eglantineReviews
