High School protest

High School protest

A Poem by eglantine

Sometimes it's best to sit on a stone ledge

and feed the world bread crumbs.  Often, we

don't recognize our own reflection in the sky

because we're used to defined shape, not pin-points

of light--souls peek through keyholes

in hopes we'll open the door and embrace them.

Shade is an spect we season our breakfast

with and we treat starlight like the bile we

swallow back down--we refuse to see

what we contain.
