Night juice

Night juice

A Poem by eglantine

While your lips are freckled, mine

are holly-berry red, ready to burst

with poetry--

During the day we all live in

the city of Babel, but when

night unscrolls, language becomes

a matter of luminescence

     luminescence and etre.

I liked the allusion to the ancient world that you made when you referenced babel. I also liked the way you broke your line two and stanza one and had a shorter third line. The idea of language something something more profound than words is an especially powerful though. Imagine, humanity communicating on a physiological and mental level beyond the articulation of syllables. Those ideas really caught my attention.
