A slivered moment

A slivered moment

A Poem by eglantine

We made love--

and I don't mean in the

      physical, body-within-body way,

but like how the sky diffuses into

itself: cool shades into warm hues--

          a constant frothing atmosphere.

The moon cracked and spilled

its' yolk--a creamy mess of entangled

lovers' sheets.

Three roses hung upside-down

from the window to dry.

Soft silver evaporates into deep rouge--

      a blend of two bodies,

      a scent of the moon.

"secret sun"
the silver does come from a supernova, after all
it should at least get credit in a love poem

but in all seriousness, it does have that post-coital calmness to it
you could probly derive a title based on that underlying feel you've created/described

It's amazing, just amazing, i could imagine it as a work of art, a superb painting, thanks to the vivid visual images you have given us all over the poem. Full of pathos, i see a mature conception of love and it's very intriguing, a very charming poem, great work =D

You love your moons! That usage of the moon as an egg is quite briliant for that reason 'Premature Love' springs to mind
