Over Tea

Over Tea

A Poem by eglantine

To truly understand me, pour

two teaspoons of dried Eglantine

stems into a tea-strainer and steep

it in Michigan creek water for the length

of this poem.  No need to add

honey or milk or moon: the taste

has already been choreographed to slow-

dance across your tongue and even though you might

not know what to label my

words as, they dissolve and add a bit

more to what you were just

moments before.

Damn it, now I want some tea. If it makes me want tea, than it most hold water. Enjoyed this.

Nothing clever to say, just I like it. Especially:

the taste
has already been choreographed to slow-
dance across your tongue

Very nice writing.

yes, yes this is so good to the brim
and your description of self is an aroma of words I have not even begun to under stand, yet stir in me a seeping world of dreams coming to the surface with herb breath ....amazing stuff

+n, on the briar

it's' a bold flavor; bitter perhaps, to the synapses...but only the initiates born under scorpio moon refuse to worry about such things

and bitter, or so they say, has the most beneficent healing properties of the lot
a close second, perhaps, being pungent, as in hops, of which I've partaken this evening in non-tea format

I like the timing of this piece, and all the other cool elements..I'm just winding down here between pieces
