Ocean Drying Softly

Ocean Drying Softly

A Poem by eglantine

I whispered your name into the inner
twisting curl of a conch shell, hoping
an echo from saltier waves would carry
it through shadow-rimmed currents until it
flowed softly along the shore, like my breath
settling across your neck

Lovely little poem....I didn't know those shells were called "Conch". A wee bit of knowledge gained as well!

A wonderful piece with a lot of interesting imagery. Had to read it a couple of times to understand the piece entirely because of the vast amount of what is going on in such a short space. I like it.

Excellent, excellent, and excellent! A thousand times bravo!
This is really beautiful and lyrical. You're a really wonderful poet. I hope you publish more of your works. I look forward to reading more of your work. This poem made me remember back to the few times my family visited the ocean. It's just so lovely and cool down there. I love the clean salt water, the breeze, and the sun on the skin. Mhm, so wonderful.
You brought those particular memories back for me. I hope you write more. I am indeed looking forward to it! :D
