Gullible

Gullible

A Poem by eglantine

I wore night for you,
   a necklace of strawberry pearls,
   black stockings slipped
   on like evening.

I had never let anyone watch
the moon rise from my sigh,
                           my breasts.

My skin, pearly under lunar
radiation, soft beneath
your whispers.

I let you fill my lungs
   with stars,
my heart with the promise
   of a thousand galaxies.

Wow, let me say it again, wow. Eglantine, beautiful does not even come close to describing this poem. Wow!!!

E, I had to add to this review after I woke up and really read the title. Still this is beyonnd beautiful but so very sad. It is amazing how my emotions have flip-flopped in just a few short minutes.

Wow, I really love this piece. The imagery is so vivid that I can practically see this poem in my head. I love the line "I let you fill my lungs
with stars,
my heart with the promise
of a thousand galaxies". Great job :)

Thanks Jen!
It's sensual and full of contradiction, much like life and love itself. The title says it all, I've owned it many times, to much regret afterwards, this one cuts like a knife covered in silk and satin, well done eglantine.
