Honey and milk bath
A Poem by
eglantine
... seaglass breath,
lullabyes and bubbles.
I write hallelujah on my skin,
where your lips used to murmur my name.
one by one, mermaids
fall from my eyes--
they taste of salt.
I slip underwater to listen--
to check
that my heart still beats.

amazing write...
"mermaids fall from my eyes"
really love that line.. checking that my heart still beats...
alone in a bath of bubbles, reminiscing...of a love that used to be...and a wondering by the speaker. "am i still alive?"
good stuff here.

This feels so soft and quiet. Meditation of sorts. There's mixed emotion here, but everything that remains is unmistakably beautiful. So much texture here. Very well one.

thank you CM
This is one of those pieces that requires few words and yet speaks volumes in each. You are very adept at word choice, and your imagery is never overdone or forced; I appreciate that in a read. Such a starkly vivid moment in time, both sublime and forlorn at the same time--I like the juxtaposition. Well written...highest praise for this.

And thank you for stopping by :)
This one sparkles on the page...love it from first word to finish.
I write hallelujah on my skin,
where your lips used to murmur my name.
Like a tiny gasp on the page, a poem in itself, just a gorgeous read eglantine, brava!

The pleasure was all mine, enjoyed this one immensely!
A poet that I really like, one of the most talented on the internet. An excellent poem ( I have never read anything from her that wasn`t good), especially the skin image in the middle impresses me a lot. Very good,a poem of high literary quality.

Thank you as always
So beautiful my sweet friend. I enjoyed the feel of this poem as it washed over my eyes tonight.
I write hallelujah on my skin,
where your lips used to murmur my name.
Loved this line, I could feel it, truly feel it.
This poem has submerged me in beautiful scenes and shimmery waters. Very, very nice.
