Firsts

Firsts

A Poem by egg13

Another beginning, a new start
Leaving everything behind
Every friendship, every romance:
Home
Bonds broken, never renewed
I want to belong
I want an identity
I want a home
Not these endless firsts
That never last

If it's any consolation, many find that there is no place, person, or thing in the world that they can pledge loyalty to outside themselves. (Okay, that's not consoling at all)
However!!! Fortunately writers have whole worlds inside them that they can believe in... places that they belong to. The world of ideas and the blank page...
Keep up the good work!

I think the message here is conveyed well. The thought process is clear and I get the feeling of wanting more. I don't know why but that last "But" is throwing me off slightly.

I had my doubts on that too. Thanks, it's fixed now
As a child, this was my reality. No sense of who or where I belonged.

mine too, unfortunately
The character is a drifter, He is searching but also wants to be found. Short poem but it has a lot of messages

Very Interesting. I feel this conveys the feeling of lonliness(?) well.
