A Silent Wish

"A Silent Wish" expresses the quiet longing of wanting to be remembered on a special day, like your birthday, capturing the feeling of being forgotten and the hope for recognition.

The day I wait for every year has finally come 

Longing for a “happy birthday” from those who I love 

Nevermind, don’t stress about me, it isn’t a crime 

I will just keep praying till I show up in your mind 

 

I will whisper to the wind a secret 

One no one will care about, not a single cricket 

A wish so faint, it fades through the air 

A fragile hope that vanishes, bare 

 

Regardless of every reminder 

Everyone seems to forget me in the winter 

And while they thrive in each game 

They forever fail to remember my name

Today (December 17th) is actually my birthday and that is what actually inspired me to write this poem! I hope you love it as much as I do!

ahh my birthday is also in winter and I understand you. I hope you had a good birthday. It usually happens like this, we give too much meaning to birthdays or any day, we try not to get our hopes up but at first it doesn't go the way we want and we encounter a bigger disappointment.

still, although I start every birthday with "this was my worst birthday ever", I end it with "THIS WAS THE BEST".
I think we get disappointed because we give more meaning to such special days.
in fact, let me tell you something, the birthday I'm celebrating right now isn't even my real birthday, my father died on my real birthday and I celebrate my birthday on a different day. yes. and for some reason, I felt very happy on my birthday before I even knew my father died and I had a good feeling inside me. I KNOW IT'S A DEPRESSING STORY BUT DON'T THINK THAT WAY; maybe it was the only birthday I've ever had that started well and ended badly.

We create the meaning. And I hope you get 5 times the happiness you expected from every place you hoped for.

I'm so sorry for your loss, I know it can be hard to lose such a close person on such a special day. I am glad you felt happy though that's nice!!!! And yes I had an amazing birthday when I wrote that poem, I too started my birthday by saying "this is the worst birthday ever" but thanks to my friends they made that the best day of my life now! I hope you have a the most wonderful birthday every year of your life and again I'm so sorry for your loss. Trust me, your father is proud of you for everything you do and he wants to see you happy always!!! :)
