The One

The One

A Poem by W. C. Forrest

The World was still,
Like before the coming of profound abstraction,
when all seemed lost,
Everything merging into darkness,
The words eluding even the most scintillating talks,
There came light,
Guiding in the dark,
Freeing the words from shackles of dread,
There was she,
Waiting to be claimed as 'The One',
There was yet work to be done,
Another silent war of hearts to be won,
Yet, there was my light,
Guiding,
Inspiring,
Perspicacious of my imminent victory,
Waiting to be claimed as 'The One

This is truly spectacular... I want to quote each line as the most inspirational, the most beautifully worded, I simply can not choose a favorite. The image of a guiding light bringing forth a union of the spirit, heart and soul... so gorgeously scribed... but yes, there is that part that is calling to be highlighted..

"There was she,
Waiting to be claimed as 'The One',
There was yet work to be done,
Another silent war of hearts to be won,"

Amazing, the subtle rhyme and concept... brilliantly penned. I am in awe...

Thank you Chanelle. :)
"Freeing the words from shackles of dread" -- catharsis, indeed. The poem has the sighs and longings in between the lines, how gorgeously you have versed. You do have lovely ink - let it not dry ! Cheers
