A Desperate Case of Night Time CoffeeA Chapter by W. C. ForrestIt’s one in the morning and after much procrastination I realized that am desperately falling behind on my target whilst papers being just about the corner. It had been a tiring but an unfruitful day as I had squandered the hours glued to PS3. However, time does not decide priority but it is the priority that decides time. The rules of prioritization dictate I work towards accumulating my energies and channeling them towards the completion of my target; yet the whole idea was against my sleep penury state. So, I put on the headphones and with music blaring in my ears enter the kitchen determined to make coffee. On entering the kitchen I found myself in company of self assured wreck of a coffee machine mocking my resolute decision of making COFFEE. Feeling rather antagonized I start of by filling the kettle with water and astutely managed two minutes of sleep while the water came to a boil. Then, I blindly searched for instant coffee mix finding it half buried in a cupboard which to my previously remiss knowledge did not even exist. Next, I picked my favourite coffee mug and eyeballed about a teaspoon of coffee, a tablespoon of cream and some sugar. Finally, I poured the steaming water in the mug and stirred making sure all ingredients (coffee, sugar and cream) are evenly blended. The aroma of coffee fills the room instantly and the steam fogs my glasses while the realization hits that I managed the entire process while listening to Pearl Jam’s “Let Me Sleep”. © 2014 W. C.
