just a little

just a little

A Poem by eena

he wants to
watch me paint in the living room
intrepid little fingers
bloom
here comes the ink splots
and my baby toes
like to line summertime up in rows
to be counted, to be swingsetted
and documented
in between sticky plastic pages,
'cause we're gonna have to look
back one december and assure ourselves
of a temperature rise
and july-time.
I always thought we got lost in mid- november,
quick to come back
in february
for that one thing or other--
I'm the unprincessed princess,
maybe a knock off version of cinderella
or something like that.
but I'll keep to my cobblestones,
to that daisy tied 'round my finger.

Very nice, I like it. There's something kind of ''devil may care'' about this.
