Stain in my shoesA Poem by Edward Lancheisterthere always left somethingCloudy weather with a rain drip in the early morning Hush I took a little run ignoring water that drops at my raincoat try to ignore my cell phone from the people that calling I must get to the office, don’t want to be late My eyes so often see the watch, seems like a sign of warning Ignore the panting breath, keep moving forward Sometimes I step on the puddle water that forming My breath becomes a smoke along with footfall taken onward Taxi, while i raise my hand straight racing with time that going faster and faster driving from the narrow to the main street see the people running in the raining that get harder Finally, I arrive at the office gate and push the door Embrace the crowded room with people that coming Take off my raincoat, that cover my skirt and pant before Everything seems so clean and dry without something But when I look down and find there a huge stain in my shoes Dirt from the path I have taken We can cover up all the things that have taken But there always left something as a trace that cannot be erased Like stain in my shoes © 2014 Edward LancheisterAuthor's Note
