Life worth living

Life worth living

A Poem by Edward Lancheister
"

life and living

"
Open my eyes at the start of the day
One bold step and I’m off on my journey
Sunshine and lights upon my skin
I can feel the warm embrace within

People pass by, they meet and greet
Sharing in conversation & spirit
Each day holds a great vision to claim
Yes, today is a beautiful day, I say
So let nothing be wasted or vain

The sun and moon, they rise and set
Silver stars shimmer across the dark sky
Courage and faith are the center of hope
Make troubles vanish like a fire’s smoke

There’s certain to be battle, a war to be won
No day leaves time to surrender
Pain brings strength, sorrow brings love
And charity brings joy- the greatest gift ever

Life’s too short to be taken for granted
Or wasted without hesitation or thought
Wish not for its ending for this is just beginning
Take a bold step into your journey
With me.

Many people like this poem. People are seeking encouragement in a depressing world. I like this stanza the best:
"There’s certain to be battle, a war to be won
No day leaves time to surrender
Pain brings strength, sorrow brings love
And charity brings joy- the greatest gift ever"

Very good insight, Edward, about life's push and pull, tug of war.

A wonderful hopeful message within a well delivered poem. I love the move to a clearer larger font, and it gives the poem more personality.

Live in the present, dwell not in the past.. take whatever chance you can.,it may be your last!! The message is very insightful.Life is not transient we need to take out of it as much as we can.Not succumbing to the huddles but overcoming it with courage and confidence..That will define us.. Nice write friend.

thank you Sophy for have stop by and review my poem. it mean a lot

I hope that my honesty does not come across as rudeness and also that I am not misunderstood but your positivity drives me bananas. And as I type this I do smile. And I share with you many of the precepts although I think is the way we interpret them or assimilate them is diametrically opposed. And the lack of balance that I just refer to makes me think that you wish for this to be? Like it lives in you as hope or maybe the cultural differences are to great for me to relate to this kind of feeling.

But what cannot be refuted is that it is a postive message and as such it carries obvious goodness.

Thankyou for the invite Edward.

I love the essence of this!! The biggest suggestion I would give is to make sure each line flows into the next more smoothly! Poetry is a lot about flow! But I adore the message! Life IS short, and it's a blessing, so LIVE it, daily! Don't take it for granted!

I like your vision of a positive life, overcoming the struggles it throws down in your way.

Your structure feels natural, with a healthy rhythm. Be careful about the grammar here: make your verbs parallel ("pass by and try to greet") and some of your rhyme seems forced ("missed and hesitated" where "hesitated" would better read "hesitation."

These are my suggestion, but of course this is your work. So, the decisions you make have to be your own. I like your positivity.
