The echoes of lost loveA Poem by Edwin Noble
We were never destined to be together, for time cruelly snatched you away from me.
That fateful day, it wasn’t just your physical departure; it was the demise of two souls intertwined, leaving one to wander the desolate realms of the living while the other lay silently beneath the earth’s embrace. As you were mourned with tears and adorned with flowers, I, in contrast, bore the weight of guilt and the relentless sting of regret. The pain of losing you, my beloved, engulfed me, leaving me to endure the agony of your absence all alone. My darling, how I yearn to join you, to feel your touch in the realm beyond. Now, I find myself yearning for the end of my own existence, eager to bid farewell to a world where I have lost not only my entire world but also the dreams that once illuminated my path.
