Vicious Circle

Vicious Circle

A Poem by Rain Bo
"

This is based on a dream I keep having about a girl killing her parents. Over and over. I kind of hate that dream, so, I thought maybe this would make it stop.

"

The curtain slides.

Snow-white bathrobe,

smoky mascara trails,

A girl steps onto the rug.

A blinding light reflects

Off the blade she now holds.

With one small smirk,

She leaves.

As we stare

At the barely-open door,

Piercing, pained screams

Shake the whole house.

A moment of merciful silence.

The girl comes back,

Snow-white now blood-red,

Mascara cleared by tears.

She steps into the shower.

The vicious circle starts again.

Wow, these are strong images. I was thinking "Psycho" in reverse... I like the snow white - blood red contrast. I was wondering who was killed, but then I saw the quote at the top. The cycle you refer to is that your dream reoccurring? Has writing this had an effect on your dream life?

Very um wow, I hope the dream stopped, sounds disturbing. But the poem is great in that dark kind of way.

Best yet!

It's really emotional, and the description is clear enough that someone could almost see what you're writing about.
Really good.
