The BladeA Poem by Rain BoThis is my attempt at free verse. I had been reading Ellen Hopkins, and was feeling inspired. From the point of view of someone who cuts his/her self. And (as you may or may not gather from the information given) his/her family finds out. It's the apathy that makes me return to the blade. But the blade does relieve.
I cut to feel. I feel only the blade sliding, the blood flowing, the pain. Why Lie? This wasn't an accident. But that's what hurts them most. Not that I meant for this to happen.
I don't need all of this negative attention. © 2008 Rain BoReviews
