Gibbous MoonA Poem by papaedwriting in a tight format. Looking at a Gibbous Fall moon over an old cemetery.Know you gibbous moon, from dust you were hewn? But o're earth’s deathly spirits you hold sway Where shining marble monoliths are strewn Strange things happen under the half-formed moon Spirits shimmer, pop, and come out to play Know you gibbous moon, from dust you were hewn? Mortal flesh staggers and fights not to swoon The hounds lean back, look up. and sadly bay Where shining marble monoliths are strewn The shrill cold wind plays its pitiful tune Your silver beams penetrate the cloudy gray Know you gibbous moon, from dust you were hewn? Worn stone marking are mysterious runes mark the beds where lonely sad spirits stay Where shining marble monoliths are strewn Hazy shadows rise from oily lagoons And languid drift where wanton spirits lay Know you gibbous moon, from dust you were hewn? Where shining marble monoliths are strewn © 2012 papaedFeatured Review
