Destiny's SlaveA Poem by papaeda denial of destiny's powerAre we to have no hope as we traverse the slippery slope of a thousand daily decisions?
Are we not allowed belligerent wrath as we face hardships along our path from welcome birth to hated death?
Are we but puppets of flesh created to dance, dangle, and feel elated for some perverse satisfaction?
Do we follow complex scripts through trials of mystery, tragedy, and humor with denials that we have no control?
Is education just one of the tools that make us into ironic fools on a cruel, surreal stage?
Is it just within our dreams that freedom is as it seems a choice that we may make?
I refuse to place the blame for actions that I claim on predeterminism
If destiny’s touch is on my life it’s with a broad brush, not a knife as I will not be destiny’s slave! © 2009 papaedReviews
