You Begin Where I EndA Poem by papaedAnswer to a Paradise Challenge to show the yin/yang of my closest relationship.I asked “Does our love have a chance? Why do you hold back!? Oh Mother of melodrama! I feel your pitiful pathos. You Angel of Animosity radiating fevered fervor. Do you fear fondness or sappy sentiment? Must I harangue you to hysteria?”
You hesitated, then said “Let’s try.” So the journey began.
37 years later I’ve learned; I’m the yang to your yin, I’m disorganized, you’re organized, I don’t care for money, you do, I drive fast, you don’t, I like action movies, you don’t, I don’t like to shop, you do, I’m impulsive, you’re not, I like the outdoors in summer, you don’t, I’ll wear anything, you’re selective, I save things, you throw them away, I like electric guitars, you like harps, You’re right, I’m left,
Our minds meld with hearts entwined, we make beautiful music together, we both lead others well, we laugh out loud together easily, we share openly and often, we like to be on time, we both love to help others, we love our beautiful family, we each encourage the other’s creativity, we give each other space, we are mutually tolerant,
Beneath that hesitation, you still begin where I end. © 2009 papaed |
