Speeder Joe

Speeder Joe

A Poem by papaed
"

running the speed limit and observing others

"

just pass me by Speeder Joe

you’ve people to see and places to go

gas to burn, denying mortality

cast fate aside, avoiding reality

trusting animals to stand aside

as speed limit laws you don’t abide

believing 1,000s of moving parts

will function well and not depart

attracting the police as you go

just pass me by Speeder Joe

thank you so much for your review of my toxic poem I posted recently. Your words were so eloquent. It touched me deeply.
This one is a happy little jaunt of a poem. So much better than the finger I throw when "Joe" blasts past me in the morning...but nonetheless - you address something resonant, real and pretty serious, with a side of 'verbal tickling'
nicely done! I'm so glad you are here at the Cafe, doing what real poets do.

I like this, such nice rhythm, flow and meaning. It really does carry a well worded message.
Nicely done.
