The Poet's Demise

The Poet's Demise

A Poem by papaed
"

Most of us are here... the answer to a Paradise challenge

"

A poet is a brazen trivia accumulator

selecting all manner of fact and later

while craving quality with every breath

will reach into devastation and steal from death

A poet will suffer incarceration

for a moment of inspirational elation

will find their brain unraveled

crossing bridges found untraveled

A poet will reach into the fictional void

and find themselves not annoyed

by improper cradle references

or ugly promiscuity preferences

A poet is not disenchanted

when vitality is strictly planted

into words filled with trepidation

incarnate and above their station

And the demise of a poet begins

when their creations show that sins

are an acceptable path for life to follow

and without karma results are hollow
