Death is Fleeting

Death is Fleeting

A Poem by papaed
"

Contest entry for Tovli's ten. On the brevity of our lives.

"

I look up and contemplate my death

AM I to know that coming moment

A release; a loss of breath

MAN tries to make life rhyme

IN the search finds joy and torment

LOVE lubricates this trip through time

WITH a mate I smile toward the end

THE memories of moments spent

SETTING milestones as I ascend

STARS persist; remain constant

"I am a man in love with the setting stars"

Left, right, up, down, backwards, and sideways this is a beautiful poem. I wish I had more to say on it but I'm a bit in awe by it.

Very nice...the first line sums it up and then you create a nice ambiance of your poem. Liked it!

It's the time spent in contemplation that consumes the most.

Three score year and ten, not even a blink in the creators's eye, but we make of it what we can.

I like to think that love is as constant as the stars above. Much enjoyed.

I too am in love with the setting stars. I dont believe its a question you ask yourself, but the reader... I contemplate my death as well, not fear it... not anymore. lovely write.

I believe we all think of death and wonder how fleeting it is. Though provoking for sure. How will it all end, or will it? Is death the end, or just another beginning? Though provoking if anything. Thank you I enjoy reading that which makes me think of things I normally avoid. Just so you know, if you have made me think then you have succeeded in a productive pice of writing… :) I look forward to ready more from you.

Life is a creature of passing events, and death is that ultimate passing event that no one should miss out on. All is flux, and flux is all. Do not miss the final kiss.
