A Vote of ConfidenceA Poem by Mr. Hyde
If you could get me out,
won't you help me out? It's time for a slaughter. It's very strange in here, shadows everywhere, drifting around on the water. And we were so excited to give up the fight that we never stopped to think about our compromise; we only realized after the ship began to sink. The sky was on fire that night when they took us down to be saved. But don't you worry, my child; it will be all right some day. When you wake up and find there's nothing left to be afraid of, I'll be right behind you. So you're my saviour, then. You're the one who cares. You're the one I should have seen. There's nothing left now; I'm getting out somehow. You've seen the last of me. And don't you drown me in your insanity; it's the only one you ever try. I don't care about your ostentatious doubt, I'm getting out tonight. The sky was on fire that night when they took us down to be saved. But don't be afraid, my child; It will be okay one day. When you wake up and find there's nothing left to care for, I'll be right behind you. When we saw that smile in his eyes, we knew we had to do something. You put a knife in my hand and said, "Right. Now let's go hunting." The sky was on fire that night when they took us down to be saved. But there's no need to fret, my child; this will all be over some day. When you wake up and find there's really nothing left, I'll be right behind you. © 2013 Mr. Hyde |
