price of remission

price of remission

A Poem by Ed Hart

price of remission

want

and wish of will

won't wash the words away

that weaken bold encampments

and leach

              love's long slanting day

drop by wanton drop

the acidic sibilance of fear

                                     distills

soul scorn from heart sworn

flooding damnation on the dear

time's weary papyrus

rolls tight behind each moving hand

and when the ink of rage is dry

it's lost again

                    you understand

Oh dear Ed.

Your words are beautiful.

But the price is always worth it is it not.

Thought not in my lifetime, or even my children's children; it is how our species will one day make it to the stars,

Oh, and wherever you are reading this dear Edward; Dduw bendithia chi.

Beccy.

The price is life. All costs are high.

Your anger leeches through the screen and the conflicting conversation is a tightrope of emotion. I will join you screaming at the sky until our throats bleed all ......while holding your hand.

I can only dream of writing this way someday Ed. You have such a command over words and bring emotion to each line.

This is a very moving poem.
