patsygirl and eddiepiesA Poem by Ed Hartas a dear friend says about her postings here at wc: 'somewhat poetic prose'
a south dakota farm girl met her lost angels street kid sixty years on beyond the carnage of broken marriages and multiples of in-betweens
he was already fading of defects in mind and body smoking black cigars and betting a minimal wage in low caliber poker rooms
she was the teacher she was the nurse even his blond jokes and litany of true confessions didn't phase her focus (you'll have to ask her why)
her patience allowed him to discover the colors in heart-friend acceptance unjudged unhurried untamed he unfolded into the gift of love
to lift a phrasing from robert lewis: now he lives where he longed to be the sailor home from the sea the hunter from the hill © 2017 Ed HartReviews
