the deep magic
is an open secret
but it is not ascertained

if we understood the deep magic, life would stand on its head and die. Why (on Earth) do we need to know what is mean to be a secret??? What's easily discovered is transient, perhaps. The divine in any field is what it is. Surely? Perhaps? Maybe?

You inspire with so few words, sir Hart.

I wonder if someone, some scientist somewhere, beating themselves over the head with microscopes and bits of brain tissue, will ever ascertain it and we can point to it like it were in a zoo and say "ha, there it is there's proof it's real" or if we'll always walk around like it's the biggest secret we're all part of but can't talk about, but then when we find someone who thinks about the secret the way we think about the secret that person is ordained special and indispensable by us..
This piece almost refers back to itself with the final line and title denoting that this is kid stuff (or that it should be) and any talk of the secret is kind of redundant. As far as the body, it's eloquent and simple.

Ooph. Unbeatable answer. I have to read that aloud.
Once we think we know, we know we don't.

your words have a wider application than mine
-- you're such an amazing poet that even the atheist in me is willing to chant your words... happily... :p
