I never would of kissed you if i knew I'd miss you this much,

 my heart in my hands, eyes cast to the past 

of a life and love that i knew before. 

My feet drag the floor, leaving scuffs 

on tiles  aimlessly logging the miles 

of a journey to a destination that can no longer be. 

the love that was the ours the one we grew, 

you stopped watering and i stopped pruning,

 trying to keep the weeds of lies and deceit at bay 

 i was convinced.NO! i knew. that little desert flower would last and endure.

 But it was all just a beautiful lie to a painful truth. that in the end there was no us, just an M-E and a U kept apart like letters of the alphabet held together by reason but no rhyme. They can spell love and they can spell time but the ones that will never come together are us ours and mine....
