Jump

Jump

A Poem by Lorraine Hampton
"

simple pleasure in the most childish things.

"

JUMP!

Jump!
Wind rushes past

My smile wide

The smell of fall

Envelopes me

My limbs tingling

Floating mid-air

My curls fly up

Far from my head

As the ground comes

Closer to me

Adrenaline

Makes my heart pound

And my mind thinks

Only of now

My toes touch ground

My heel lands flat

My curls fall down

The thrill passes

But the joy stays

Land.
