why you're a F*****G MORON if you don't vote!

why you're a F*****G MORON if you don't vote!

i do apoligize if this is offensive to anyone, but i passionately stand behind the very opinionated statements i'm making. i am NOT endorsing any politician or party.

SO... it's the season again for the ever-present argument over whether it really makes any difference if a person votes or not. I hear alot of people saying things like:  " it's all rigged anyway, they'll put in whoever they want, just look at Bush. we're led to believe our vote counts, but no one really knows whats going on besides the people in power."--- "I don't want to vote for any of these a******s!!!"--- " It's too confusing trying to figure out where my vote's really going."---  Well, friends and neighbors, in answer to all that, get ready for a full fledged Annie-rant-----

QUIT F*****G WHINING!!!  You know why we've had eight years of idiocy? cuz rednecks and the "moral" f*****g majority don't worry about all that, or even if they do, they VOTE. If all of the people who didn't vote had, they could not have pulled that scam, or at least not as easily as they did. Don't get me wrong, I've hashed over all of the above and more, with as much doubt and confusion as anyone, but I'm calling bullshit on all of it and here's why:

1. True, it may be fixed. We really may have the wool over our eyes and be under the thumb of Big Brother. But what if we're not?!  Then the joke's on us.If we all just sit on our asses with our noses in our conspiracy theory books and our heads in our bongs and accept that as reality, they don't even have to go to all the trouble of rigging anything, cuz we didn't go to the trouble of trying to prevent it. Essentially, that mentality is a terrific example of how we build our own prisons in our heads. If we behave as though we are powerless, we become powerless.

2.  Even if you don't want to vote for any of these a******s (and believe me, I feel you on that one), it's still better to choose the lesser of two sphincters, or write in the person you do want, rather than waiving your right to vote at all. It is our responsibility to speak up for what we want if no one's offering it. Waiving our rights is serious, and the situation only gets more sinister as more people do it. If we dont use it, we could lose it! If we behave as though we are powerless, we become powerless.

3. It's true (especially if you're a minority party member or totally iconoclastic politically, and voting in a swing state) that it might be hard to figure out where your vote is going. We all learned in the fifth grade or so how the electoral process works, and many of us promptly forgot it along with alot of other stuff we learned in the fifth grade. Most of us didn't forget how to read, however, so it shouldn't be that hard to take a refresher. Turn off the tube and read a damn book.I myself suggest one called  "How to Get Stupid White Men Out of Office." it's dated, but it explains the electoral process, how to make grassroots movements actually work, and alot of other stuff that's good to know about the intricacies of voting, pretty clearly. If you don't like books, there's also this thing called the internet that's pretty handy for looking up information. If you find reading difficult, ask an elderly friend! Our elders are all over that s**t! Or someone else knowledgeable who you respect . Really, if we've got time to brood over it, we've got a few minutes to re-educate ourselves. "I don't know what to do..." is a cop out. Do something. If we behave as though we are powerless, we become powerless.

4. This last bit is especially for the ladies (who as a group statistically tend to vote less than anyone!!!)--- My grandmothers were living in the time when women finally won the right to vote. Maybe yours were too. Or your great-grandmothers. It hasn't been that long, sister. It's possible that some brave woman in your family heritage went on hunger strikes, demonstrated, went to jail, suffered public humiliation and defamation of her character, or quietly helped organize those who did, so that you can vote. Those women are heroes, and if you're a female who's of age to vote and not doing it, you're spitting in their faces. Women have struggled up pretty hard in this country, but theres more to do, and if we're already taking for granted what we only won a couple of generations ago, well, thats just us pretty well fucked. Women who do not vote are lazy irresponsible a******s, and put society as a whole at risk by keeping their mouth shut when there's nothing preventing them from opening it. If we behave as though we are powerless, we become powerless!

Let's face it, alot of us don't like what we've been handed, but it is what it is. Doing nothing accomplishes nothing, and leaves the door wider open for those who are doing something, maybe something not very good. Alot wider. Our nation can't be governed by the People if the People are cowering in their lairs in paranoia, confusion and apathy.    WAKE UP!!!!!

Ok, so there's my sermon,  and if you're like minded, and feel as stongly as I do, feel free to copy, e-mail, print, post, whatever.  Pass it along. POWER TO THE PEOPLE.
