ForgivenessA Poem by EchoJaySomeone asked me once, "What would you do if you knew that Jesus was coming in 1 hour?" This was my response...
"Jesus is coming! Jesus is coming! Jesus is coming!"
Charles quickly hides the curse words in the closet... Laura throws her lies down the laundry chute... Naomi packs away all of her envy... Josh stashs the hatred in an old boot... Aaron shoves secrets beneath his bed... Anna shreds all of her resentment... I bet they all ponder what hell would be like when they're all eternally dead. And, I... well, I grab all my envy and lies... Pick up every gram of hatred... Grasping my resentment while I wept, watching the pile rise. Under the weight of my sins I fall to one knee as He finally enters with nothing to hide. I offer them up to him... beg for forgiveness... then with his sleeve my tears he dried. He held my hand... I could feel his scars. "I have someone for you to meet with these things you did bad... You might know him, he's a good guy, I call him my Dad." © 2012 EchoJayAuthor's Note
