Reading this made me wonder, if we ever reveal our true self to anyone. I'd like to think that my poetry defines me as a person, more than anything else I could ever reveal.

I suppose there are many layers that make us who we are, and one by one, they are pulled away - but only by our own choosing. Perhaps it is love that gives us that freedom, that permission to do so.

Very nice. Enjoyed every inch of this. The cadence was hypnotic and the poetic essence was rich. There were many nice lines here but I think my favourite is "stripping away your superficial skin, I liked the alliteration/metaphor there. Well done!
