Cinnamon

Cinnamon

A Poem by ecasynaman

For some reason
you remind me
of cinnamon
sprinkled generously
along with ground cashews
on top of a freshly baked croughnut
still steaming
with your vibrant sweetness
still so soft it melts
at the tip of my fingers.

The thing is,
I don’t like cinnamon.
Or even croughnuts for that matter.
