What the River Heard

What the River Heard

A Poem by ecasynaman
"

a secret off course...

"

The stream
which, carries you
toward me
is one, with
which shoves me
away.
We drift
in parallel
together,
asunder.

Amuse yourself
on fate's ridicule
and join the water
in gurgling mirth,
as it
swallows
my saline sorrow drops.

But remember,
destiny's messenger, the current
that holds us apart,
while essential,
is but a journey.

Someday,
after the mountains
and the valleys,
dying forests
and thirsty fields.

Someday,
after the cold that inures
and the heat that exhausts.
After the clouds that restrain
and the liberty of rain.

Someday,
the ocean will redeem us.
Then, we will meet.

This is moving, Kabayan. It's never easy to keep that secret feeling, is it?
But who knows? Only time can tell.
I like the ending you made here:
"Someday,
the ocean will redeem us.
Then, we will meet."

Great one. Keep it up!
