If time heals all wounds,
then the scars of the past fade,
but fatal wounds kill,
poisoning souls with no hope,
bringing death while one still lives

I agree with those lines. Indeed there are fatal wounds that washes away one's hopes.
Very relevant Tanka, Eddie. If I'm not mistaken, this is your second Tanka. =)
