Snow QueenA Poem by Eddie DavisA poem inspired by the most popular Disney animated movieGolden hair with silver hue, There is beauty clear and bold, Frozen with a heart so cold, Cold not from malice or from hate, But because the hand of fate, Blessed at birth, but now gone sour, A sorceress of winter’s power, Fear of harming those she loved, Touching nothing when ungloved, How they kept her locked away, Denied for years from sister’s play, So she grew up quite alone, First-born heiress to the throne, Following advice of a troll, Striving to keep it in control, But when parents drowned at sea, Grief and fear set powers free, The palace walls she stayed inside, Suffering alone she chose to hide, Upon her coronation day, She barely kept the ice away, Watched her sister laugh and dance, Caught up in whirlwind romance, She had not seen her for so long, Something simply must go wrong, She asked permission then to wed, And fought with her when no she said, Her great emotion unleashed the storm, And all around her ice would form, The girl-Queen fled, but t’was in vain, She could not escape her frozen reign, Into the mountains full of snow, Here at last she let it go, Let the magic craft and form, An icy palace from the storm, Here the Snow Queen would ever stay, The cold never bothered her anyway, In icy palace far above, The Snow Queen reigns without love © 2014 Eddie DavisAuthor's Note
