The Kingdom of Northmarch is in turmoil as its long-reigning King nears death. Will outside forces threaten the future of Northmarch or will a new Kingdom rise from the ashes of the old?
I saw you at Booksie the other day, Eddie. I just don't have so much time to stay at the site because I preferred to be here where I can enjoy more because of more advanced features than other writing sites.
Eddie, you have more than one book here, and you are into fantasy. I admire fantasy writers like you. There are only few here who write fantasy stories. I dreamed to write one because there's a concept in my mind but until now, I don't know how to start on it.
BTW, are those photos of characters originally made by you? Have you consider to publish this into e-book format /Kindle? I think your books have this opportunity to be made into movies.
Best wishes, Eddie.

Booksie, as the name implies, is more geared toward books, but it does not have the advanced features that Writer's Cafe has. If I could combine both sites, it would be very close to perfect. Here the biggest complaint I have is that when you use a dash or minus sign in a text - like I just did- sometimes Writer's Cafe converts it into a quotation mark. Other times it doesn't. So when you post a new chapter, you have to then go back into it and search for these converted dash marks. Once you edit them in the Writer's Cafe editing box, they are fixed, but it adds a lot of time to the publishing of chapters.
As for starting on a story, I'd just say to write down the scenes or setting that you have in your head. I started 'Aurei of Westmark' with just the idea (at first) of the rather tame adventures of a Drow barmaid living in a human town. But from there it grew. I didn't have a plot or really much of a story-line when I first began, but I've learned that often these develop as you write.
The 'photos' are actually 3D renderings using a rendering program called Studio Pro 4.6. It is a freeware program put out by Digital Art Zone (DAZ) for those too cheap to buy Poser. It is incredible and quite addictive. I could easily spend all my spare time rendering things. I really enjoy rendering my characters, but it takes a long time to craft them, so I have to limit my time doing it, or else I wouldn't get much writing done.
I've pondered publication, but I've hesitated. I met a lady at church last Sunday who has published a fantasy novel much like mine, using a 'print on demand' system. She said she sold 8 books, but the cost of each, at Amazon, was over $50, which is rather pricey. This is how the publishing house makes money.
I actually have converted all my books into e-book formats. There is a program called Calibre that converts text documents into all the available e-book reader formats. Of course I keep editing my books, due to frequently found errors, so I would have to re-format them with calibre. (It is also a freeware program, BTW). I could perhaps use this to put them for sale on Amazon, but I'm not at all certain they are worthy of being sold. One lady here told me that once they are offered for free reading, it is very tough to sell them. Honestly, I'd love to try this, but again I hesitate as I realize my lack of mastery of correct grammar would certainly show my lack of skill. I've dreamed of having the series made into a 'movie' by Pixar or Dreamworks, with realistic CGI renderings. But first I'd just like to have a copy of each book in actual print.
