Dear lovely girl,

How tragic your fate,

Alone and so scared,

Plucked from your street,

 

Nothing is left,

That any can say,

Just know that your death,

Will not leave our minds,

 

And porch lights will shine,

In memory of you,

We’ll band close together,

In thoughts and in prayers,

 

Evil can harm,

Sometimes it kills,

But love is eternal,

And God never sleeps,

 

So shine in the Heavens,

Dance with the Lord,

While we let our porch lights,

Shine in the night

Eddie... That's tragic, indeed... The world is cruel and innocents suffer. I'm sorry to hear about this.

That aside, I just want to let you know that you have progressed impressively in poetry. The last three stanzas are beautiful. Your faith is evident in your writings. Keep up the good work.

It has stunned everyone in the west part of my city where it occurred. There is a "Porch Lights for Hailey" event happening Sunday night, where in memory of her, people all over are turning on their Porch Lights and taking a picture of it with a note of where the pix was taken.
