You Have My Heart

You Have My Heart

A Poem by Elisabeth Bowles

Lit by the beam of sunlight first peeking through after the warm summer rain, I see your smile.  Your hand reaches towards mine and  holds it tight.  You pull me closer and I lay my head on your chest and I am filled with immaculate beauty.  I am consumed with love, trust, and ecstacy; as you engulf me with your strength.  I know the true you, and you the true me.  Your wishes, desires, dreams duplicated in my mind.  Comfort and safety the keys to our connection.  The keys to the solitary lock that binds our hearts as one.  Pure love that finds no obstacle too great to overcome.  True and unconditional understanding, love.  Your love consuming my soul.  My love consuming your true being. Nurturing eachother, the only ones truly knowing how.  Learning day by day how to love one another.  Working together everyday as a team, to solve the obstacles of life so as to not let them shatter our love.  You are my wife, my companion, my love, my soul mate, my best friend, my partner.  You have my heart and I have yours.

I write because it is my passion. Not to be judged but to entertain the world. And for a little bit of self therapy. I love my family. I love my life. It has been a long journey to this spot, and.. more..
