Jagged TornA Poem by Elisabeth Bowles
Jagged torn. These walls won't come down The gate only opened for her Locked her in but she pounded and screamed to get out But you tapped away with a small hammer My tears turning the searing passion to icicles You opened me up and drank in the beauty I have yet to find Freezing my cold heart to an unbreakable stone No seams to mend the same wounds opening day after day Never learning from the same lessons always running into the same walls The last effort for escape before the water pours into my lungs Freezing the blood running through the veins Leading to the dungeon that encircles my heart The beauty erased by the scars, open and festering in the salt of the tears The tears never ending, only to nourish the thirst of the unknowing soul Stopping the tears will heal these scars The entrancing sleep heals the soul The soul falls to the ground and humbly begs for forgiveness I'm slipping so deep inside myself, opening my soul to allow someone to enter Take control put the feelings deeper down To pound the pain deeper into my soul To blind the passion to bind the energy To keep the soul pure, the pain unending Understanding the pain, teaches you to love the pain, to covet the pain Knowing only that it will be the comfort The pain making you realize you're still alive Not to make me crazy anymore Just to find the true me Make her love you make her see Seal the beauty, banish the pain Release the hate and oppression, embrace the serene © 2008 Elisabeth Bowles |
