I Thought

I Thought

A Poem by eMckenzie

I thought I loved you.
But now that we are together, I feel sick.
I feel sick because I know,
I know that if I end this,
There will be no friendship.
There will be no contact.
Nothing between us will survive.

The emotional intensity of this is raw to the core. It may be expressed in a few lines, but it captured the spirit of the feelings trying to be projected quite perfectly. This is the type of poem that can transcend borders, meaning that its audience won't be limited by age, gender, status or any of those other corporeal labels. Beautiful piece, good job!
