Faults

Faults

A Poem by Elisa Barguil

So       it was my fault when i

Convinced myself    you were in love with a ghost

On some train      and you had settled with me, a nice girl

To forget      the beauty of her eyes      when you saw her

Yes, it was my fault too       when i searched your phone

And read innocent texts,    back and forths between

You and your girl friends     late outings, walks to school   or

Friendly intentions      of preserving your past.

It was my fault too, to think that i know what

Goes on in your mind,        as if it would affect

The course of the universe       the fates of all people

How pathetic       and sad of me  it could make me

Angry though     but here,

It was my fault      everytime ive pushed you away

Trying to    find a fault in your words

Or meaning in useless texts       and curious glances

To think     there must be more     to

A  desperate kiss.
