For Every Action There Is An Equal ReactionA Poem by The Butterfly EffectTornadoes kill dozens. Tsunamis, hundreds. Earthquakes, thousands. We cry, we mourn, we plead: Why, God, why? But we’ve never stopped to think that maybe it isn’t God; maybe it’s the Earth taking her revenge. We’ve raped her lands since the beginning of civilization. We’ve marred her beautiful skin with roads and buildings. We’ve polluted her breath with chemicals and gas. We’ve cut her up and tore her down. We’ve sucked the very life force from the depths of her core. Humans are rats, greedy and overabundant, willing to do anything to get what we want and yet squeal and flee at the first sign of danger. There’s nothing to do with a rat besides exterminate it. Nature Divine is doing just that, exterminating us. Getting rid of the pests invading her being, unleashing unforgiving wrath upon the fleas nipping at her flesh, trying to take back what is rightfully hers in the form of whipping wind tunnels and exploding mountains followed by streams of fire and miles and miles of blinding, angry, gnashing snow. There’s nothing we can do about it. We are trapped like fish in a bowl, completely at Mother Earth's mercy. She’s willing to live in harmony until we decide to advantage of what she’s shared. Only then she turns from us, destroys us, as we destroyed her. God has nothing to do with it. We don’t live on God.© 2016 The Butterfly EffectReviews
