A Chapter by eatmills

Isla looked at me knowing that I was thinking something.

“What are you thinking, Barry?”  Isla’s eyes were glassy already.

I decided to tell the truth.  “Your lips,” I looked into her eyes “I never noticed how sensual they are.”

“Would you like to kiss them?” Isla seductively asked

“Yes.”  I answered and moved into her.

I kissed her softly at first then Isla started kissing harder grabbing me, pulling me into her.  I grabbed the back of her head and pushed her into me.  I cupped her breast lightly and she groaned.  Like two animals in heat we had sex.  An embracement of the living.

At the moment of climax the world began to swirl and I began to think about how I wanted to blow her away and now she was blowing me away.  We collapsed into each other once again.  We lay in each other’s arms, panting trying to catch our breath.

“I could lie here forever.”  I sighed enjoying the moment.

“I never realized...” Isla faded away

“Realized what?”

“Realized.”  I guess that Isla was still high from the hash as it took her a wile to form a sentence.  “Realized that it would be the end of the world and that I would be making love to you.”  Isla snickered

“Yeah,” I agreed “that’s pretty funny.”

I had to admit, I kind of saw her point.  What are the chances of two ships passing in the night colliding into a torrent of terror?

“Barry?”  Isla looked me straight into my eyes and I could see the tears begin.  “What are we going to do?  We just can’t stay underground the whole time.  There has to be others.”

Here we go, I should have shot her in the head when I had the chance. “Well I’ve been thinking.”  I lied.  I wasn’t thinking about anything.  “We keep going west until the end of the line and keep going west away from the nuclear reactor.”

“What makes you say that?”

“Well I was watching this documentary,”  I explained sitting up still naked  “and they started going on about how there was some disease or something that wiped out mankind completely.”

“You kinda of mean like what has happened to us?”

“Exactly.” I continued to explain. “ Anyway, in this scenario the nuclear power plants didn’t shut down properly and exploded.”

“Well,” Isla remained laying down staring at the ceiling of the train. “if what you say is true then what is the point of going on?”
