Should have been sleeping

Should have been sleeping

A Poem by eatmills
"

A scattered moment of my life Part 56

"

Should have been sleeping

thinking of ones and zeros.

Should have been sleeping

instead of a hero.

I think in weighted code

try to break free from the node.

Terrible things distract

there are things that act...

I try to stay on the attack

I have to fight back.

What is left to lose?

I already had to choose

the perfect one

or the perfect none.

I see it differently

I see the subtlety

In the desire

in the fire.

the swirl of colours

no match for

the followers

the weighted code

overwhelmed

crashes

the virus

set in place

Should have been sleeping

I need to dream

Should have been sleeping

instead I scream.

I've never seen poetry written in a binary vein. It's different, to say the least

i see living a life with choices limited to one or the other, but inevitably life distracts. and i see that choosing to dream is choosing to live. but that's just me...excellent concepts.

Love your interpretation of my poem. Thanks for your review.
Binary code sounds better than counting sheep! Great writing, man! I like the "electronic" feel to it, if that makes sense.

I've never been stuck in a bedtime groove like that, but certainly understand how it might drive away sleep. Ones and zeroes, huh? Sounds like one of Data's dreams.

Nothing worse than viruses to disrupt your day. I studied computer code years ago, before PC's existed, in an air force environment. I swear that's why my hair eventually fell out - lol. Interesting

This is a really interesting poem. I like how you use a lot of "tech" words in this too. Well written, and kudos!
