Everything I'm not

Everything I'm not

A Story by Janyce Helen Van Es

He:   I have been looking for a girl, honest and true.
She: You're all misconstrued; your judgment is off-kilter. I lie like a rug.
He:   I love the color of your blue eyes and I have always loved blondes.
She: I wear tinted contact lenses and the color of my hair is bleach from a box.
He:   I have always admired an educated woman.
She: I was home-schooled; home more than schooled.
He:  I always wanted a thrifty woman.
She: I spend all my money in thrift shops.
He:  I want you.
She: You want everything I'm not!

Short but still has a lot of power to it. To me it is always fascinating how people say they love everything you are when they in actual fact don't have a clue as to who you REALLY are...

Good job.
