Aw....this was such a great story! You did a wonderful job with the details from the different personalities of the turtles, to the surroundings and the descriptions of every 'adventure' each turtle went on. This should be published; it was a joy to read and it amazed me how caught up in the lives of little turtles! (and their friend the possum and so on)
I had to smile as you described the different types of fish. I have family from the south (MS and KY) and catfish is something we tend to hurt ourselves eating-sort of like Forgetful. ;)
